NCC ::
Games and Sports
are encouraged in JNVs to develop fitness, physical and neuromuscular
skills and to promote the spirit of cooperation and sportsman. Apart
from the same, young talents are identified at an early stage and
are helped to excel in their chosen field by specialized coaching
through PETs / SAI Coaches at selected venues.
Samiti organizes school level, cluster level, regional level and
national level competitions in sports and games every year. Specialized
course like, Archery, Judo and Gymnastic are also encouraged in
some of the JNVs situated in the tribal areas of the country where
the same are popular sports.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti is a state under School Games Federation
of India and the Navodaya National teams compete with other state
teams under SGFI banner. The progress made by Navodaya Vidyalaya
Samiti on sports front is commendable.

Sports
53 students of
J.N.V Mayannur, 31 girls and 22 boys were fortunate enough to get
the privilege of participating the 18th cluster level games and
athletic meet conducted at J. N. V. Palghat and Idukki.
21 girls and
18 boys were selected for regional meet.
Regional were
held at J.N.V Guntur, Shimoga and Kasarkod.
6 girls and 5
boys were selected for Nationals, which was held in J.N.V Paota
and Ranchi.
Students of our
Vidyalaya took the challenge with sportive spirit and participated
with Vigor and enthusiasm.
3 girls brought
laurels to our Vidyalaya by getting selected in SGFI they are:-
1. Kum. Shamana
M. awarded as a Best National Player in Volley Ball
2. Kum. Remya
Mol and Kum. Sherin P. J. were awarded as Best National
Players in Basket ball.

NCC is being
introduced in JNVs in a phased manner. Several NCC cadets from the
JNVs have excelled themselves and brought laurels and have represented
NVS in several districts/ state and national level rallies/ parades/
competitions.
Samiti is recognized
as a state for Scouts and Guides activities by BHARAT SCOUTS &
GUIDES. Scouts & Guides are introduced in all the JNVs. Every
year many Scouts & Guides of JNVs bring laurels being adjudged
as president scouts and excellent guides by receiving awards by
the Hon’ble President of India. A total of 503 number of children
secured President Award last year.
The total candidates
in NCC are 100 (50 girls and 50 boys)
14 girls cadets
had attended combined All Wing Annual Training Camp at Little Flower
College, Guruvayoor.
Kum. Aparna V.,
Shilpa Vinod, Karma Ramesh, C. N. Christy Paul were selected for R.D.
Preliminary.
Kum. Anju P.
A. and Divya P. M. were selected for TSC pre capsule.
Cadet Welfare
Society would be awarding scholarship to Kum. Jincy Joy, Villy Rose
Mary, Vineetha K and Dheeraj T. for their efficiency.
23 cadets would
be appearing for A certificate Exam in Feb 2006.
